The largest summer festival in Otaru, the "Otaru Tide Festival." This event is held to express gratitude to the sea and to pray for the development of our hometown Otaru, with the entire city's participation. While listening to Mr. Haruo Sanban sing "Shio Ondo" and Mr. Ken Bihoro sing "Shio Odori Uta," local community groups, schools, and businesses parade from the city center to the port in a procession called "Shio Nerikomi." On the final day, the portable shrine parade and fireworks display color the "town" in the spirit of the "festival."
