【Cherry Blossoms・Best Viewing】Maruyama Park

A cherry blossom viewing spot beloved by the citizens
Located on the north side of Maruyama Primitive Forest, it has been a historic cherry blossom viewing spot along with the adjacent Hokkaido Shrine grounds. The cherry blossoms along the shrine approach were planted in memory of the island officials and have been cultivated ever since. About 120 trees, including the Ezo Yamazakura and Somei Yoshino, which have appealing contrasts in their flower colors, are planted in the park. The site includes sports facilities such as a stadium, sports ground, and also adjoins a zoo, making it a center for recreation and sports culture. Dining and banquets are subject to rules.
