Kasuga Shrine Summer Festival

Summer festival of a historic shrine
"Kasuga Shrine Summer Festival" is the largest festival at Kasuga Shrine. On the 18th, there will be a procession of children's portable shrines, bustling until late at night. On the 19th, the main event of the festival, the portable shrine procession, will be held. The procession will be carried out by many shrine bearers and tall lanterns. Amidst the ringing of Chikurin drums, the entrance of the golden shining portable shrine is magnificent. The grounds lined with stalls will be extremely lively with the ritual Kagura being offered on both days. Additionally, 100 'standing lanterns' will be set up along the grounds and approach, and at night, they will be lit, inviting you to a fantastic world.
