This is a solo exhibition of Chen Qingyao (1976– ), a Taiwanese artist who creates portrait paintings that replace East Asian leaders with his own face and works that reflect the political situation between Asian countries through the figure of a fighting beautiful girl. The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, but it has been 84 years since the outbreak of World War II. By re-examining the trajectory of East Asia during and after the war from continuous and multi-faceted perspectives, this exhibition invites reconsideration of contemporary East Asian society, culture, and ethnicity.
