YunNan Izumo Kagura Evening (November)

Kagura born and passed down in the Izumo region
Izumo Kagura is said to have originated from the dance of 'Ame-no-uzume-no-mikoto', wishing for the appearance of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu, who hid in the Iwayato cave. Currently, many Kagura groups exist in Unnan City and it is continuously passed down as a regional folk art. The Unnan City Ancient Iron Song Museum invites different groups every month to hold regular performances. In November, the Sannoji Hongō Kagura group and the Kōzawa Kagura group will perform, showcasing solemn dances. ■Note The performance schedule may change, please check the Unnan City Ancient Iron Song Museum's website for confirmation.
