Around Nippo Hachiko Dome

Mid-Apr~Late Apr

The Nippo Hachiko Dome, one of the largest wooden domes in Japan, utilizes about 25,000 local Akita cedars that are over 60 years old. Originally, this location was home to a sample forest of the old Forestry Office, and the cherry blossom trees remaining on the front side of the dome are famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot, attracting many visitors each year for hanami (flower viewing) and walks. Various trees also stand on the back side of the dome, offering a chance to enjoy nature with a light stroll.
