39th "Hietuki Bushu" Japan Championship

The melody of the folk song handed down from the Genpei era
"Hietuki Bushu," which starts with "The pepper tree in the garden, ring the bell," is a representative folk song of Japan, known nationwide. It has been sung for a long time as a labor song of the deep mountain village of Shiiba, and also as a tragic love story between the Heike's Tsuru Tomihime and the Genji commander Nasu Daihachiro Muneyoshi, who pursued the Heike. This event is held to promote the inheritance and dissemination of this excellent folk song. ■Notes The deadline for participants' applications is August 1, 2025 (Friday).
