Held annually in late September, the Aizu Festival is the largest festival in Aizu, inheriting the 'repose and gratitude to our ancestors' and the 'celebration and joy' of the restoration of the Aizu domain. The 'Lantern Procession' by children starts on 9/19, followed by the 'Aizu Bandaisan Dance' on 9/19 and 9/20, the 'Ancestor Gratitude Festival and Aizu Domain Parade' on 9/20, and the 'Nisshinkan Children's Procession and Drum and Bugle Corps Parade' on 9/21.
