Dededen Festival

A festival that has been held for about 400 years
This festival is said to have been conducted since before the Kamakura period, and it is a prayer for a good harvest, abundant silkworms, and protection from illness. It is named after the sound 'dededen' made by striking the taiko drum during the procession of the mikoshi. The mikoshi, which holds the sacred body of the three mountains of Hakusan, is carried out by the parishioners dressed in white and they all run up the stone steps of the approach and the drum bridge.
