Walking with Ukiyo Photographer in Edo Famous Places: Daidenmachō Area Edition

Walking in the area where Tsutaya Jūzaburō and Kōshodō relocated: Higashi-Nihonbashi
A stroll to learn about history by visiting the actual locations depicted in ukiyo-e and old maps with photo artist Ukiyo Photographer Kikichiya, who captures the modern appearance shown in ukiyo-e. This time, we will walk around the area of Tsutaya Jūzaburō’s Kōshodō, which relocated to Tsuuyachō (Daidenmachō). During Tsutaya's time, major bookstores (media) and textile wholesalers (apparel industries) lined the streets, and nearby was a lively entertainment district with theaters and sideshows; let’s experience the historical stage that was once bustling. ■Notes Meet on site for gathering and dispersal.
