【Autumn Foliage・Best Viewing】Sado Kiyomizu-dera

Founded in 808 by Priest Ken'ou, who came from Kyoto upon the order of Emperor Kanmu. It features the "Guze-den" which resembles Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, and the principal object of worship is also the Kannon, just like at Kiyomizu-dera. The main hall closely resembles Kiyomizu-dera as well, reflecting the deep connection between Sado and the capital of Kyoto. Surrounded by lush green trees in spring and summer, and adorned with autumn leaves in fall, the atmosphere is very quiet, almost as if time itself has stopped.
