Hayabusa Festival

The sight of the Jankan horse dancing is a must-see!
The Hayabusa Festival, one of the two major festivals in the Miyakonojo and Kitamorokata area, has a history of over 100 years. It features the Jankan horse dance to pray for a bountiful harvest, along with performances of local folk arts from various towns that take turns. After the performances, the 'Niwamodoshi' event showcases dances in each district. On stage, local groups perform dances, and there are shows featuring the local hero 'Mimata Ranger.'
