12th Monpe Expo in Fukuoka Tenjin

The 'Monpe Expo,' which delivers the most comfortable daily wear of Fukuoka's traditional craft 'Kurume Kasuri' in the form of 'monpe,' will be held for the 12th time this year. The number of repeat visitors increases year by year. Together with four weavers, about 1,700 pairs of monpe will be prepared. Aiming for a landscape where Kurume Kasuri made in Fukuoka naturally blends into the cityscape, the exhibition and sales will be held at Acros Fukuoka. A rich variety of monpe in diverse colors and patterns will be available. ■ Notes A bus tour to visit Kurume Kasuri weavers will be held on July 26 (Saturday)
