Takinomiya Park

Feel the spring at the park where citizens relax
Takinomiya Park has been a representative park of Niihama City, cherished for over 60 years since its opening. It is located in a hilly area called Kanekoyama, which was the site of the residence of the Kaneko Bigo no Kami during the Tensho era (1573-1593) and was also a battlefield during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Shikoku expedition. There are about 1,500 cherry blossom trees planted in the area, including Somei Yoshino, Yoko and Yamazakura. There is a cherry blossom viewing area located to the west of the large pond, which becomes lively with numerous visitors during the spring.
