Kansai "Reiwa Peasant Uprising and the Future of Food" - How do we protect our rice?

Reiwa Peasant Uprising, Farmers' Anger and Hope
The price of rice has surged in various regions, significantly impacting producers, consumers, and distribution. Small to medium-sized farmers are particularly facing severe economic conditions and are at risk of ceasing agriculture. This project aims to provide a dialogue platform to understand the background of the rising rice prices and to achieve sustainable agriculture and fair food policies. Additionally, it will incorporate voices from the field of the farmers' movement, starting with the "Reiwa Peasant Uprising" in March 2025, as well as perspectives from researchers familiar with policy.
