Morioka City Archaeological Learning Center - Summer Vacation! Ancient Experience Square

Enjoy an ancient experience with your family at the Morioka City Archaeological Learning Center! "Fire Kindling Experience" (for elementary school students and above), "Plate-shaped Clay Figure Magnet Making", coloring clay beads for "Amulet Necklace Making", and coloring clay koma (comma-shaped beads) for "Ancient-style Strap Making" (4 years and above). Limited menu available on 8/4 and 5! Also, view a vast array of pottery excavated from within the city and an exhibition room that recreates archaeological dig sites. Children under elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian. For more details, please refer to the website. *Simultaneously held is the illustration contest for "Learning Center of Archaeological Sites! Let us know your favorites!"

Note

Registration for participation is from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM for the morning session, and from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM for the afternoon session. Please register during the reception hours on the day. Prior reservations such as phone calls are not accepted.

Material cost: Each production experience is 150 to 200 yen, fire kindling experience is 50 yen per group (2 to 3 people). Entrance fee: Adults 200 yen, elementary and middle school students 100 yen.

Access (Public)

From the west exit of JR Morioka Station, take the Iwate Kenpoku Bus (bound for AEON Morioka Minami) and get off at "Mori no Michi Kita" bus stop, then walk about 7 minutes northeast.
