Five Hundred Rakan Thousand Lantern Festival

The world of elegance envelops you
A thousand lantern festival is held at Rakan-ji Temple, which houses the Five Hundred Rakan, on the anniversary of the main deity, Yakushi Nyorai. This event is held every year on the anniversary of Yakushi Nyorai (August 8), lighting candles for about 500 stone statues and performing ancestral worship. This year, you can enjoy ring toss and shaved ice at the anniversary corner. A mini concert by local activity groups will also be held, allowing you to savor the charming summer of Kasai Hojyo.
