Special Exhibition 'Gathering of Shiojiri Clay Figurines!'

Many clay figurines from the Jomon Early to Yayoi period have been excavated from Shiojiri City. In particular, 185 clay figurines from the Jomon Middle period have been excavated from the Hirade site, making it the second highest number for a single site in the prefecture. Since there has never been an exhibition where these clay figurines found in Shiojiri City are gathered together, this exhibition will allow us to think about the worldview of the Jomon people through artifacts related to their prayers.
