This exhibition presents the overall picture of historical changes in Echizen Province based on the excavated medieval ruins such as temples, settlements, and castles unearthed in Fukui Prefecture, as well as the findings from the excavation of Ichijodani. It covers the prosperity of religious powers, the transition of local settlements, the local society contemporaneous with the Warring States period castle town of Ichijodani, and the transition to the early modern period after its downfall.
