Kagoshima Great Hanya Spring Festival

Unique and energetic, fully immersed in the dance
Dancers from both inside and outside the prefecture gather at multiple venues such as Tenmonkan to weave together Kagoshima's folk song 'Hanya-bushi' with Yosakoi dance, singing and dancing with naruko in hand. Each dancer showcases their unique and energetic performances in line with free-spirited music. 'Hanya-bushi' is thought to have its roots in the Amami Rokuchou, and 'Hanya' is said to derive from 'Hanei' (prosperity). It has become a cultural tradition of Kagoshima held in the refreshing season.
