Let's create a grain size chart by attaching various sands of different grain sizes to a base and observing them with a microscope to compare the sizes of each sand. The created grain size chart can be taken home as a memento. Additionally, in the museum lobby, there are experience corners for "singing sand," "simple sand transformation," "sand sieving," and "sand observation." For more details, please check the website. The "Grain Size Chart Creation" requires prior reservation through the geological specimen museum's website. ■Note Photos and videos of the event may be taken for the purpose of public relations activities of AIST.
