Nakano Gion Festival

Traditional event of Nakano City
The Nakano Gion Festival began approximately 500 years ago to commemorate Takana Masamori's victory over Uesugi Akizane in the Echigo battle. On July 19 (Saturday), there will be a parade of floats and portable shrines, as well as a paper play featuring Kurohime and Kuroryu. On July 20 (Sunday), events will be held with participants dressed as young lords.
