Atami Castle Sakura Festival

Atami Castle, standing tall at the scenic Nishikigaura hilltop. The observation deck of the main keep provides a view of the entire Atami city, as well as Yugawara, Manazuru Peninsula, and on clear days, you can see Hatsushima, Oshima, and even the Izu Peninsula in the direction of Ito. Approximately 200 cherry blossom trees of the Somei Yoshino variety are located nearby, and various food stalls will be available during the festival period, offering items such as grilled chicken, yakisoba, beer, fried chicken, sake, sweet sake, and tonjiru among others at the garden stalls, in addition to the restaurant. Night sakura viewing will also be available from 5% bloom, accompanied by illumination.

"Atami Castle Sakura Festival" dates may vary depending on the blooming status. 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (last admission at 4:30 PM). Night viewing of cherry blossoms will be available from 5% bloom until 9:00 PM with illumination.

Access

From Tokyo - Turn left immediately after exiting the Nishikigaura Tunnel. From Ito/Shimoda area - Turn right before the Nishikigaura Tunnel on National Route 135.

Access (Public)

About 10 minutes walk from Nishikigaura via bus / About 3 minutes walk from the top station of the ropeway.
