47th Jusanya-san Great Rope Pulling

Abundant harvest and good health! Great rope pulling!
"Jusanya-san Great Rope Pulling" is a local autumn festival that started about 400 years ago, held annually on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, wishing for "abundant harvest" and "good health." It has been designated as an intangible folk cultural asset of the city. After the 35-meter-long great rope is paraded through the town, an energetic rope pulling contest unfolds in the shrine grounds. The children's battle against the adults, likened to the Genpei War, is also a sight to behold.
