Jofuku-ji is a temple of the Shinshu Izumoji sect, and it is said that the temple grounds were relocated to its current site in the first year of the Kan'ei era (1624). The garden is located on the south side of the priest's quarters and features a dry landscape garden that borrows views of the mountain range of the Hino mountains, including the Bunshitsu-yama. A small mound is constructed on the south side of the study room, with a principal stone statue measuring 116 cm in height set at its center, surrounded by fresh moss spreading across the flat area in front. This garden well preserves the garden-making techniques from the mid-Edo period. In spring, the cherry blossoms in the precinct bloom magnificently, allowing visitors to enjoy a scenic view.
