Ossyobe Festival

1300 Years of Hot Springs - A Festival with History
A festival commemorating the opening of the hot spring, dedicated to the Yakushi Nyorai at Daiouji. The origin of "Ossyobe" comes from a distortion of the name of a maid "Osue" who used to work in an inn long ago, and her love story became the Awazu folk song "Ossyobe Bushi." Dancers from each town and inn, dressed in matching yukata, dance through the hot spring while performing the "Ossyobe Bushi."
