Wakuyasakura Festival

The Wakuyasakura Festival is held at Shiroyama Park and other locations. The cherry blossoms at Shiroyama Park and the Ae River bank are mainly old Somei Yoshino trees, along with weeping cherry trees, mountain cherry trees, and Taizanfukun. It is a famous cherry blossom viewing spot where you can enjoy a stroll in the beautiful spring scenery. During the cherry blossom festival period, there will be night cherry blossom illumination, the 75th Tohoku Horse Racing Competition, flea markets, traditional markets, and lucky rice cake throwing events.
