The Hitoyoshi Naval Aviation Base was established in the Hitoyoshi Basin, which has no sea, in Showa year 18 during World War II. Why were the vast airfield, educational facilities, and countless underground facilities created, and what activities were carried out there? And how was the relationship with the local people? The "Secret Base Museum Nishiki, a Naval Town in the Mountains" serves as the gateway to the "Field Museum" where one can feel the situation at the end of the war and the lives of local people. It is an opportunity to reflect on the value of life and the importance of peace.
