Biodiversity Observation of Slime Molds at the Nankai Kumanotsu Memorial Museum

Learning about forests and ecosystems
As a Ministry of the Environment Yoshino Kumano National Park partnership event, we will hold 'Learning Biodiversity at the Nankai Kumanotsu Memorial Museum.' This will include an introduction to the slime mold research conducted by Nankai Kumanotsu and an observation of slime molds collected from Bansho Mountain to learn about forests and ecosystems. The lecturers are Mr. Shinichi Kawakami from Wakayama Prefectural Natural History Museum and Mr. Hideyuki Sando from the Japan Myxomycetes Research Association. Tweezers and magnifying glasses are available for loan. Please bring a colored box to store the collected slime molds. Each session has a capacity of 30 participants. Reservations are required.
