Stage events are planned at the sister city plaza. A magnificent 'Former Emperor Festival' commemorating the demise of the Taira clan in the Battle of Dan-no-ura, and various events related to the Genpei War, including a majestic 'Warrior Parade.' The 'Hatchobama Grand Dance' will bring the venue to life with around a thousand dancers. On the 3rd (national holiday), the sea parade 'Genpei Boat Battle' will feature boats flying red and white banners representing both armies, and a special Fukunabe will be served to commemorate the 40th festival, along with a Guinness World Record challenge event.
