8/16(Sat) 18:00~20:00
A traditional fireworks festival that has been held since the Edo period, this year marks the 101st event. It was once a summer festival passed down as part of the Obon sending tradition, and after the Great East Japan Earthquake, it is held with the remembrance of the many tsunami victims and the intention of disaster recovery. On the day of the event, in addition to the Buddhist memorial service and floating lanterns, there will also be fireworks and a cultural performance event. About 1,000 fireworks will light up the river surface, creating a fantastical scene.
