90th Genji Ayame Festival

The early summer tradition of Izu no Kuni City, the "Genji Ayame Festival." Each year in early July, this historical festival is held in memory of "Ayame Gozen," the wife of the warrior "Minamoto no Yoritomo" (源頼政). This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Genji Ayame Festival, taking place on Genji Mountain, located in the center of Izu Nagaoka, which will be decorated with windmills and illuminated.
