Yamaage Festival

A magnificent outdoor Kabuki dance that is unparalleled nationwide
The "Yamaage Festival," boasting a tradition of about 460 years, features a "Harikayama" that is 10 meters tall, depicting mountain water on the locally produced "Kurasuyama Washi" paper, raised on the roads of the city during performances. The scene of raising the mountain, from which the name is said to derive, is thrilling! This year's organizing town is "Izumimachi."
