Sakura - Peak Bloom at Hōkiji Temple

A size that is rarely seen in Hokkaido
Crossing the Ohno Bridge, the temple's pagoda comes into view. This is the pagoda of Kingenzan Hōkiji Temple. The temple grounds have weeping cherry trees that bloom beautifully every spring. It is very rare to find weeping cherry trees that have grown this large in Hokkaido, and there are people who visit from far away for cherry blossom viewing because it is a type of sakura not found nearby.
