Documentary Film Screening of 'Umino Oya' & Director Talk

Considering the environment through food
What is the key to connecting the weakening ecosystem and the world's food culture? Maya Minda, who is both a chef and an artist, and Even Chardonnel, a screenwriter and filmmaker fascinated by the potential of seaweed during this ecological transition, tell the story of the discovery that revolutionized seaweed farming in Japan in 1949 and spread the culture of rolled sushi to the world. After the screening, there will also be a talk by the director, who came to Japan immediately after participating in the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice, France!
