Chikuzen Biwa: In Memory of the Late Mari Uehara, Telling the Tale of the Heike

Biwa music, beautifully sad and gentle, The Tale of the Heike
The representative classic of Japan, 'The Tale of the Heike.' Created and pursued by the late Mari Uehara, born to a biwa player, who also excelled as the top daughter performer of the former Takarazuka Revue Flower Troupe, along with Makoto Suda, president of the Japan Biwa Association, 'Tsure Heike.' The focus of the late Mari Uehara was on the description of the biwa player’s 'Tsure Heike' mentioned in the 'Taiheiki,' which was held in various places across the country. Mari Uehara's passionate wishes are inherited by Hirotsuyama, who along with Kohei Nishikawa on flute, delivers a unique and timeless 'Tsure Heike' that has been reborn. ■Notes No admission for preschool children.
