80th Anniversary of the End of World War II Special Mitama Festival

Passing on the spirits of the heroic souls to the next generation
The annual Mitama Festival held at Gokoku Shrine. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, and we received offerings of sacred cloth from Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress. The Emperor's offering ceremony will be held at 6 PM on the 15th. During the ceremony, a performance of the human-long dance 'Koma' by Mr. Toyohiro Aki, a former musician of the Imperial Household Agency and member of the Japan Arts Academy, will also be presented. From 1 PM on the 14th, a dance tribute by choreographer Hirokazu Taniguchi from the film 'National Treasure' will be performed, along with various other ritual events including performances by the head of the Hokushin Ittō-ryū. Food trucks will be present on both days. ■Notes Sacred cloth was offered by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress. The Emperor's offering ceremony will be held at 6 PM on the 15th.
