YunNan Izumo Kagura Evening (May)

Kagura passed down in the Izumo region
Izumo Kagura is said to originate from the dance of 'Ameno Uzume no Mikoto', wishing for the appearance of the deity Amaterasu, who hid in the Iwayato cave. Currently, there are many Kagura groups in Unnan City, and it is passed down as a local traditional performing art. At the Unnan City Ancient Iron Song Hall, different groups are invited each month for regular performances. In May, the Minami Kamo Kifune Kagura group will perform a solemn dance. ■Notes The performance schedule may change, please check the Unnan City Ancient Iron Song Hall website for confirmation.
