A single cherry tree about 210 years old located in the grounds of Akatsuka's Hakusan Shrine (Oshira-sama). The tree height is about 10m, trunk circumference is about 3.65m, and the branches extend about 19m to the east, west, south, and north. This tree, intertwined with Hakusan faith and Oshira-sama, is still carefully preserved and nurtured. It is designated as a natural monument by Yuzawa City. It is the 68th designated cherry blossom site on the Tohoku Dream Sakura Highway and part of the 88 Sacred Places pilgrimage. *Please take your trash with you and leave it more beautiful than when you came.
