Confectionery Festival and National Sweets Offering Festival

Famous sweets from all over the country gather here
A rare shrine for oranges and sweets found nationwide. The deity, Tamikazumori no Mikoto, is said to have brought Tachibana, the original species of oranges, from China to Japan and is revered as the 'God of Oranges'. In the past, when there were no delicious sweets as we have today, people processed tachibana fruit to eat as sweets, and thus it is also referred to as the 'God of Sweets'. On the day of the event, various sweets will be offered from about 180 confectionery shops across the country, wishing for prosperous business.
