[Autumn Foliage - Best Viewing] Umegashima Hot Spring Town

The hot spring was established about 1700 years ago, in a quiet hot spring town near the source of the Abe River. It is a simple sulfur spring, said to be effective for beautiful skin, neuralgia, diabetes, and women's diseases. Many inns and guesthouses offer day-use bathing, making it easy to drop by. Heading north on Prefectural Route 29, you will see a hot spring town lined with ryokans (Japanese inns). The beautiful autumn foliage of the hot spring town and the surrounding mountains creates a picturesque scene.
