[Sakura - Best Viewing] Hodatsu Ceiling River

A troublesome river has become a beloved cherry blossom spot for everyone

Hodatsu Ceiling River

Early Apr~Late Apr

Hodatsu River is known as a rare ceiling river. A river flows above roads and train tunnels. The Hodatsu River has been a troublesome river that has repeatedly flooded since ancient times, and locals have built levees many times in an effort to prevent flooding. As a result, it eventually became high enough to have roads and rail tunnels above it. Our ancestors planted cherry trees along this river, and before long it became a famous cherry blossom spot. It is very beautiful, and many people visit every year.
