"The Summer Purification Ceremony" features a "Wisteria Ring" set up along the approach in accordance with ancient tradition. It is said that those who pass through the Wisteria Ring while chanting the poem "Those who conduct the Summer Purification in the month of Midsummer will have their lives extend for a thousand years" from the Shūi Waka Shū will be able to spend the remaining six months of the year free from illness and calamity.
