The 56th (2025) Jantokoi Uozu Festival (Tatemons Festival)

Full of excitement! The magnificent 'Tatemons' parade
'Tatemons' are large lanterns around 16 meters tall, adorned with over 90 lanterns hanging in a triangular formation. They are supported by 10-meter long blocks and sleds, weighing approximately 5 tons, and are pulled by about 80 people in the shape of a boat. In the precincts of Suwa Shrine, vigorous young people in happi coats pull the Tatemons, resonating with youthful shouts throughout the venue. On August 2 (Saturday), a fireworks display will also be held at 19:40. The collaboration of fireworks and Tatemons offers an unparalleled experience that can only be enjoyed in Uozu! ■ Remarks Expo-related event
