For over a thousand years since its establishment, the Akasaka Hikawa Shrine has been a place of strong faith for 'warding off evil' and 'forming connections.' The shrine building, established by Tokugawa Yoshimune, has survived many earthquakes and wars, preserving its original form to the present day. The 'Akasaka Hikawa Festival,' which has continued since the Edo period, will take place at this shrine. On the 19th, the 'Yoiyama Procession' will feature Hikawa floats and neighborhood mikoshi against the backdrop of the evening streets. The 'Children's Procession' on the 20th will include children's mikoshi and taiko floats led by local children, while the 'Shinkosai' on the 21st is scheduled to have two Hikawa floats and 16 neighborhood mikoshi participating in a combined procession.
