Mitsuo Miura (1902-1956) elevated film cinematography to the realm of artistic creation with camera work that features rich tones and beautiful compositions, resulting from the interplay of light and shadow. By screening 33 works (31 programs) ranging from the silent film 'Let There Be Love for Humanity' (1931, directed by Hanjirō Shimazu) to his posthumous work 'Neko to Shōzō to Futari no Onna' (1956, directed by Shirō Toyoda), we reflect on the achievements of Mitsuo Miura, who left behind the highest level of cinematographic technique in Japan.
