The site of the residence of Kitabatake Kiyotaka, the 8th Ise province governor, who was a descendant of Kitabatake Chikafusa, who played an active role in assisting Emperor Godaigo during the Nanboku-chō period. It is said to be the place where Kiyotaka retreated and wished for a comeback after the fierce battles with the Oda Nobunaga army. Today, it is loved by locals as a famous spot for cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. It was designated as a historical site in Mie Prefecture in Showa 16.
