Shimuikiji Temple was established by Yuasa Kageki (grandson of Yuasa Muneshige) at the foot of Mount Hakujō, where Myoe Shonin trained during his youth, in the 3rd year of the Kanki era (1231). It is a temple dedicated to Myoe and holds various temple treasures related to the Yuasa family and Myoe. It is a designated cultural property of the prefecture that continues the faith in Myoe. Known as a picturesque location with views of Yuasa Bay from the temple grounds and cherry blossoms in spring, it also offers breathtaking views of the Kii Suido and the mountains of Shikoku.
