Sakura in Full Bloom: Shidare Sakura Grove in Matake Valley

A cherry blossom village that we want to pass on to future generations, blooming for a thousand years
Saza Town, known for its cherry blossoms, started the initiative to create the "Saza Thousand Year Cherry Blossom Village" in 2004. There are 1,500 cherry trees of 120 varieties blooming in the town, but among them, there are 50 "Shidare Sakura" trees that are unique in Nagasaki Prefecture. It is rare to have such a number of trees in one spot in Kyushu, and it is said to be a hidden gem. The pale pink of the cherry blossoms stands out against the green of the mountains behind, captivating the hearts of those who see it.
