[Sakura - Best Viewing] Sakurano Park

The cherry blossoms at Sakurano Park, one of the Eight Scenic Views of Hida, are said to have begun with the transplantation of 500 seedlings of 7 varieties from Yoshinoyama during the late Northern and Southern Dynasties. Approximately 300 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino and Edohigan, bloom vibrantly along the 600 meters of the park and the Miya River. In spring, the entire park turns cherry blossom colored, and the illuminated sakura beautifully floats along with the flow of the Miya River. On a warm and sunny spring day, the fragrance of cherry blossoms wafts through the air, making it a pleasant setting for hanami (flower viewing) or napping. At night, the illuminated cherry blossoms are also beautiful.
